In New Leaf , Wendell appeared in the dream villages of players who had pattern sharing enabled, allowing visitors to copy patterns from the author's town. While some fans hoped Wendell would return alongside Luna and dreaming, his New Leaf role is now taken care of by a kiosk in the dream island's plaza.

Wendell still has an appetite as big as ever. Feed him fish, fruits, turnips, or acorns in order to get a free pattern. Check Wendell's patterns for a closer look at the patterns he gives out. In Animal Crossing: City Folk, Wendell is still the same old wandering artist with a humongous appetite.

He comes on the same schedule that has always been set for him. However, and this is the change that has pleased players the most so far, Wendells gives out way more patterns in this game than any other Animal Crossing games!
