How long was goku in the hyperbolic time chamber

I saw this page too, but I wonder where that info came from. It's never mentioned anywhere in Dragonball nor Dragonball Z, and there is also no way Goku could handle 10x earth's gravity back then also mentioned on the wiki page since he could barely stand up when he came to King Kai's planet also 10x gravity.

Probably just an inconsistency in the show. Upon entering the room with his son, Goku told him that when he was his age, he couldn't stand staying more than a month, which means he did enter during his training, though it's never shown in Dragon Ball. This happened in the anime too. He mentioned staying no more than a month.

Goku supposedly entered the hyperbolic time chamber once as a kid and then again when training with Gohan. You should try and find some evidence that this did in fact take place and edit it into your answer. Ramey Ramey 1. Sign up or log in Sign up using Google.

During Dragon Ball Z , Goku used his second opportunity to train in the chamber after the arrival of Cell, helping Gohan achieve the Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2 transformations, with their one day in the chamber lasting a relative year inside.

Vegeta and Future Trunks used the chamber twice, once ahead of confronting Cell and again after the android achieved his perfect form. Then in Super , Vegeta uses the Hyperbolic Time Chamber three additional times -- with even Goku getting a third opportunity inside the room -- across the course of the series. The Saiyan Prince utilizes the chamber in preparation for the Tournament of Destruction to take on the champions of Universe 6, to battle the alternate timeline villains Goku Black and Future Zamasu and, for the third time in Super , to prepare for the Tournament of Power against the greatest warriors of the multiverse.

While there is no explicit rationale given for why Vegeta is able to visit the Hyperbolic Time Chamber so often, the answer is provided at the end of DBZ. He reasoned that if the fused Super Saiyan was unable to defeat the villain, he could destroy the exit and seal Buu inside the pocket dimension anyway.

There are dual giant hourglasses of emerald sand adorning the sides of the building that count down a year within the chamber. A clock on the dome roof of the main part of the building tells the applicable time in the real world. The wooden door entrance is a portal between the Earth and the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, and is the only way to travel to the pocket dimension without ripping holes in the dimensional walls. The Hyperbolic Time Chamber is a place where one can train and get stronger in a short amount of time.

There are a number of conditions that make the Time Chamber a perfect place to gain strength quickly. To begin with, the flow of time within the Chamber is compressed. One day of real world time is equivalent to one year inside the Chamber, or one minute of real time is approximately six hours, five minutes, and 15 seconds in the Chamber. The gravity in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber living area is described as being "different", though it seems to not be much higher than Earth's gravity of 1g.

Alternatively, the gravity of the training area outside the living area is 10g. Gohan's first step over the threshold of the training area brought him to his knees this does not happen in the Dragon Ball manga , which explains how the gravity could feel "different" in the living area ; Trunks also had some difficulty with the gravity, but Goku and Vegeta were both well accustomed to much higher levels of gravity by the time they used the chamber.

The air pressure is a quarter of Earth's in the anime, the air is said to grow thinner the deeper one goes into the chamber. Goku explains to Gohan during their visit to the chamber that the air grows increasingly thinner in the recesses beyond the plaza, which can be threatening as the Hyperbolic Time Chamber has no apparent boundaries.

The abnormal and inconsistent air pressure makes it difficult to breathe. The dilated time combined with the harsh environment essentially allows for someone entering the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to get one year worth of intense training in a single day. Goku has stated that even simply doing nothing in the chamber still takes a massive toll on the body.

The only major drawback is that a persons aging process will correspond to the compressed flow of time inside the chamber, rather than real world time. This means that when someone emerges from the time chamber after a full year of training, they will be a year older and will have lost an entire year of their life in only a single day. The Chamber can only be used for two days or two years by any given person, meaning a person can only enter the chamber twice in their lifetime, assuming they stay for the full year both times.

Staying in the chamber for two days straight counts as two uses. If anybody attempts to use the chamber past their 48 hour limit, they will not be able to exit, leaving them trapped in the nothingness and not allowing anyone else to use the outside door. Furthermore, there are only enough provisions to accommodate two people for one full year. This is commonly misinterpreted as a two-person limit overall, but it should be noted that in the Buu Saga four people in total were inside the chamber.

The room's door is eventually destroyed, rendering it useless and temporarily trapping several characters inside. The Time Chamber has since been reconstructed by Dende, but with a number of improvements, dubbed the 2nd Hyperbolic Time Chamber. The two-time limit that a person can enter the Time Chamber has been removed, as Vegeta has used the Time Chamber at total of five times; twice in preparation for fighting against Cell , once with Goku to train for the tournament against Universe 6 , once to train for the fight against Goku Black and Future Zamasu , and once to train for the Tournament of Power.

Additionally, this new chamber can be used for at least three days or three years in a row. When using the Earth entry, time passes Main article: Imperfect Cell Saga Vegeta and his son's alternate counterpart, Future Trunks , enter the Chamber to train for their attempt to prevent Cell from attaining his complete form.

Both train as ascended Super Saiyans , and Trunks surpasses his father in brute strength, but has issues with not getting in the way of his father's pride, so Future Trunks hides his power level. Trunks unknowingly makes a mistake by using his time in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to increase his strength, while sacrificing his speed and dexterity.

Both Vegeta and Trunks fail to prevent Cell's completion, although Vegeta deliberately took part in allowing Cell to become complete for the sport of fighting him at a more challenging state. Main article: Perfect Cell Saga. Goku and his son, Gohan , enter the Time Chamber in preparation to fight against Cell. Goku tells Gohan that he was here when he was little, meaning that he went into the chamber when he was training during the Piccolo Jr.

While training with his father, Gohan becomes a Super Saiyan, becoming the youngest Super Saiyan of his time. They both emerge from the Chamber with a heightened control over their Super Saiyan transformation. They developed an optimization technique to stay in the Super Saiyan state for long periods of time in order to eliminate the strain from transforming.
