Westnet when is off peak time
A reduction in your PIR will affect all network traffic, including any unmetered content such as Netflix. The reduction and subsequent restoration of your PIR do not occur instantaneously and may take over an hour to be effected by our systems.
The start of metering for Peak Hours and the start of metering for Off-peak Hours is not instantaneous. These metering transitions usually take less than 30 minutes but are performed on a best-effort basis only. Your network traffic is profiled and speed limited shaped by nbn co according to its shaping policy and three traffic profiles. Any of your traffic that does not match one of the traffic profiles Metered Content will be counted against your Peak Data Allowance during Peak Hours am to am the next day and your Off-Peak Data Allowance during Off-Peak Hours am to am.
This profile includes text and images but excludes audio, video, peer to peer, file sharing and cloud storage content. This profile only includes updates for certain operating systems on mobile phones and personal computers.
The three traffic profiles and shaping policy are governed by nbn co, not SkyMesh, and the policy may change from time to time. We will notify you in advance of such changes. VPN or other inscrutable traffic: will not match any of the above profiles; will be classed by nbn co as Metered Content; and will be counted against one of your data allowances. Peak Hours, Off-Peak Hours and other periods are defined by nbn co and apply to the time zone in which your service is located. As a result of this policy, our broadband plans with smaller data allowances represent better value than those with larger ones.
Services must not be used to connect neighbouring premises; support carrier or service provider data aggregation applications that result in substantial and continuous network throughput; support a carrier or service provider interconnection; bypass the application of shaping by being disconnected and reactivated; or match a traffic profile not intended by nbn co. Network bonding or load sharing of multiple services is forbidden by nbn co.
Rule violations may lead to lead to nbn co deprioritising your traffic, negatively affecting your data speed, or SkyMesh suspending your service. Therefore, during mains power disruptions, you will not be able to use your service or make emergency phone calls with it. We strongly recommended that you always ensure you have the ability to make emergency phone calls. Depending on reception, keeping a charged mobile phone close by maybe one way of maintaining that ability.
Some of your existing devices may rely on legacy technologies and may not work with the technology that nbn co chose to roll out in your area. SkyMesh does not provide support or compatibility information for specialised devices and services such as: medical alarms, autodiallers and emergency call buttons; monitored fire alarms; security monitoring systems; teletypewriter devices and EFTPOS terminals.
If you need standard telephone service but have a life-threatening medical condition, or live with someone that does, please seek a provider that can offer you a service with Priority Assistance. SkyMesh does not offer standard telephone services with Priority Assistance but you can obtain such a service from Telstra Corporation Limited. However, it is still possible that your existing phone or broadband provider will switch off its network in your area due to other reasons.
Please note that although voice services are not bundled with our broadband services, they can be purchased separately. Overcome the traditional data issues experienced in rural Australia with the unmetered data available for gaming downloads, updates and game play time.

Either way, you are not losing out by going with one or the other. If you want to go naked, then Westnet compares pretty well against the competition, especially for its unlimited plans.
This is a segment of the market dominated by the iiNet and TPG family with plans priced the same. However, different carriers attract different set-up fees and some include VoIP calls. NBN plans are a little trickier to compare as there are things like speed Tiers and data to consider as well as all-out price. For the price, there are a lot of other providers out there offering unlimited data. Once again, however, Westnet is beaten out by some other small providers, as well as some bigger ones.
However, once again, Westnet is trumped by smaller companies offering cheaper prices. Westnet is a pretty attractive provider with the backing afforded by iiNet and TPG. These providers consistently rate as some of the best for Netflix and streaming speed. However, away from that and comparing Westnet to other providers reveals that there are cheaper deals to be found on a monthly basis that offer the same or more data.
NBN said it was now looking into new enhancements on the service including an education multicast product to help deliver distance education, as well as an enterprise-grade wholesale product to offer additional capacity for regional businesses.
